‘McCormack Demby Timber’ (MDT) commenced on June 26, 2007 as a result of a merger between McCormack Timbers and Alex Demby Timber and the acquisition of Drouin West Sawmills.
Respective owners Greg McCormack and Gary Demby have a wealth of history in the Hardwood Timber Industry.
Whilst the new company is relatively young, Greg and Gary’s family history in the industry dates back over many generations.
Both Greg and Gary joined their family sawmilling businesses early in their lives and both went on to become their respective CEO’s.
Greg first met Gary visiting the Demby’s sawmill “to see what the latest technology was all about…”
An opportunity for both businesses to become more efficient and more competitive led to the merger.
The merger has positioned MDT as one of the largest hardwood producers in Victoria.
All production takes place at MDT’s World Class Morwell Mill and warehousing is located at our modern Dandenong and Sunshine Coast facilities.
